In this guide
For some products (e.g. sugar), you will be asked to record the amount of a nutrient in the food. Do this using the nutrient panel.
For other components, data may be shown in different formats on pack. For example, some products may list sodium content, while others will show salt. Use the fields in the form to indicate which format you have entered.
Tip: it is important that you indicate the weight of the product to which nutrient information refers. Usually nutritional information will be presented per 100g of product, but it may be presented per portion.
A note on cereals
Some cereal products present nutrient data as sold (i.e. for dry cereals, without added water or milk) whereas others present nutrient data as consumed (i.e. with milk).
Check preparation instructions and, where possible, the weight of cereal and volume of liquid recommended for a given portion. Nutrient data should be entered for the portion as consumed.
